Jeremy Gibson is a Cincinnati artist with a passion for wood. While furniture making is part of his portfolio, more recently woodturning has become his favorite form of artistic expression. "With turning," says Gibson, "you are creating vessels that just beg to be held in the hand, to be examined for weight and smoothness. I enjoy each block of wood for what it is and what it ultimately becomes, letting the wood itself determine its final shape."
Jeremy Gibson was born in Cincinnati, and spent his childhood surrounded by woods and trails. College days took him to Montana, where again, he was fortunate to be in an environment filled with nature. He fell in love with the smells, sights, and beauty of the hardwood forests. In the early 90's, he decided to become a full-time wood worker, building furniture and creating other wooden works of art.
Gibson continues to work in Cincinnati and lives there with his wife and two children.
