Malcolm Meyn
Malcolm Meyn was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1940. He is the eldest of six children. Meyn matriculated at Tulane University and then received his MD degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in 1965. After serving in the United States Army, Meyn began a surgical residency at Harvard University in Boston, then completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Tufts University School of Medicine. Meyn, his wife Susan, and their family of four children (now five) moved to Clifton, Cincinnati in 1976. Meyn's surgical practice changed in 1984 when he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. In 1985 Meyn enrolled at Salmon Chase School of Law, Northern Kentucky University. He received his JD degree in 1989.
Four years ago Meyn began painting, an avocation that has subsequently become an obsession. In 1997 he started night classes at the Cincinnati Art Academy and the Baker-Hunt Foundation in Covington, Kentucky. Although he spends a large amount of time in his basement studio, Meyn would rather be outdoors with his paints and easel. He can usually be found in the parks of Cincinnati, Montana, and Idaho during the summer months.
