Marilyn Bishop is an Ohio artist whose specialization is watercolor. She
enjoys painting "on location" where she captures the essence of the site and
shares the ambiance of the beautiful site that she is visiting.
She has studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy Community Education, the
Rosewood Center, Sinclair College Community Education, the Baker Hunt
Foundation and with national and local artists in both courses and
workshops. She has learned also through self-study using videos and books
as her guides.
She is founder of the Greater Cincinnati Watercolor Society. She teaches
watercolor at the Life Learn Program of the College of Mt. St. Joseph and at
the Dunham Recreation Center. She was an active member of the Dayton Society
of Painters and Sculptors and is currently an associate member of the
Cincinnati Art Club.
Her original watercolors have been shown at Row House Gallery in Milford, Ohio- Gallery St. John inBeavercreek, Ohio, at Favorite Things in Bridgetown and at the York StreetGallery in Newport, Kentucky.
Marilyn began her painting interest after a fulfilling career in ministry.
She finds this wave of her life to be a gift to her that provides new
insights and new journeys.
